Melissa Peregrym was born on June 16, 1982, in a humble home in Montreal. Her parents had decent living; her father was a Pentecostal minister, and her mother was a housewife. Throughout her childhood, Melissa always felt that she has this boyish side. In an interview, Missy even revealed that she knew she saw herself as a tomboy when she was still a kid.
Peregrym started as a model before she became an actress. At 18 years old, she got into a modeling agency called Lizbell. It was also the agency that persuaded her to go for an acting career. So, Melissa tried TV ads, auditioning for Mercedes Benz commercials, and Sprint Canada.
Then, in 2000, Peregrym appeared in one episode of Dark Angel after the scenes had shots in Vancouver. It was her debut appearance; later, she began to appear in other shows like The Chris Isaak Show. In 2003, Missy had guest roles for three TV series. She portrayed the character, Tory Straton, in the series, Black Sash. Missy also got a cast for an episode in Jake 2.0 and Tru Calling.
Missy further had guest roles in the next years of her career. In 2004, she got to cast a role in the episode, Delete, of the series, Smallville. Missy also appeared in the science fiction TV series, Andromeda. The drama series, Life As We Know It, also cast Peregrym as a leading role from 2004 to 2005.
While doing TV shows in 2004, Peregrym also got a short appearance for the movie Catwoman, starring Halle Berry. Then, in 2006, she appeared in three episodes on superhero series, Smallville: Vengeance Chronicles. Missy also got a leading role for the series, Rookie Blue, a police drama series that aired for six seasons.
Along with her TV show appearances, Missy also got into other movies like Cybergeddon and The Proposal. But it seemed that the police drama series is Missy’s true calling. In 2018, she got the lead role for the police drama series, FBI. She portrayed the FBI agent, Maggie Bell. Her stunts and her performance made her become a hot badass chick without even revealing her boobs and ass.
Peregrym is currently married to actor Tom Oakley and is expecting their first baby.
