Camilla Anne Luddington is a British-American actress who was born on December 15, 1983. She and her family lived in Berkshire before they moved to Texas when Camilla was 14 years old. While in the US, she enrolled in Westwood High School but only studied here for a year since she had to move back to England to finish her schooling.
Camilla then moved back to the US and enrolled in Susquehanna University for her college degree. However, she did not like the atmosphere and later transferred to the New York Film Academy.
Luddington’s first film debut was in the movie, A Couple of White Chicks at the Hairdresser. The movie premiered in 2007. She then had a short appearance in the film ‘Behaving Badly’ in 2009. Then, in 2011, she got the opportunity to land the role of Kate Middleton for the TV film, William & Kate: The Movie. Camilla had other TV offers before she landed the character Lizzie in the TV series, Californication, in 2012.
In the series, Californication, Camilla’s versatility got tested when she played the nanny and an occasional sex partner of the main character, Charlie. That was why she was naked most of the time. In the same year, 2012, she became a recurring role in the medical drama series, Grey’s Anatomy. She first appeared in season nine and became a leading role in season ten until the present.
Aside from playing movie and TV roles, Camilla also voiced the character of Lara Croft in the video game, Tomb Raider. She also became the motion picture of the game. She started to lend her voice to Lara Croft in 2013 and reprised her role in 2015 and 2018 with ‘Rise of the Tomb Raider’ and ‘Shadow of the Tomb Raider’, respectively.
Luddington’s success in her career was not comparable to her achievement of being a mom. In 2016, she announced that she and her boyfriend, Matthew Alan, are expecting their first child. Their daughter was then born in March 2017. Then, in 2019, the couple got married. Later they announced that they are expecting their second child.
