Le Escriba in 1999. In 2002, she
co-produced and starred in the film Frida. Frida is a film about Frida Kahlo, a
Mexican painter. This film had six Academy Award nominations (including Best
Actress for Salma Hayek). In 2003, she had her first directorial job in The
Maldonado Miracle, a television movie. Hayek won an Emmy Award as a director. In
2005, she directed Prince’s music video entitled Te Amo Corazon. She was also
the executive producer of the television series Ugly Betty (aired from 2006 to
2010).
