Barbara Gordon made another appearance on the Birds of Prey #1 issue. In the story, she got asked to join the Birds of Prey roster; however, she rejected it and suggested that Katana should join. But, she eventually joined the team in the #4 issue, according to the writer, Duane Swierczynski.
In 2014, the Batgirl comics’ team had a change of writers. In the first six issues with the new Batgirl team, Barbara Gordon explored a new life as a Ph.D. student in Gotham. But she still had those PTSD episodes, and the villain behind her trauma got revealed through her brain scans.
The reboot on Batgirl had positive reviews at first, especially the dark visualization of the comics. However, it underwent a controversy because of the introduction of the villain called Dagger Type in issue #37. The creators apologized for that said issue and revised it.
