Audrey Faith Perry was born on September 21, 1967, to her adoptive parents, Edna and Ted Perry. Faith lived in Mississipi with her foster parents and adoptive brothers until she was 19 when she moved to Nashville to pursue her singing career.
While in Nashville, Faith had several jobs until she landed a secretarial role in a music publishing firm. She then married the company’s executive, Daniel Hill. One day, Hill’s co-worker heard her sing, and Faith became a demo singer for the company. She became a Gary Burr’s backup vocals, and one day, Warner Bros. executive Martha Sharp heard her in one of Gary Burr’s performances. Sharp got impressed with Hill’s performance and offered her a recording contract.
Along with Hill’s recognition as a singer, her marriage with Daniel Hill fell apart, and the two eventually ended in a divorce.
Hill’s country music career started in 1993 when she released her debut album Take Me As I Am. Her songs took off on the country music charts, and she sold over one million copies worldwide. However, she had to delay her second album because of an injury in her vocal cords that needed immediate medical attention.
Then, in 1996, Faith had a concert tour with Tim McGraw, who was also a country singer. Later, the two fell in love and had three beautiful children, along with their marriage. After her eldest was born, Faith revealed she would be on hiatus to focus on her family. She came back, however, in 1998 with her third album. Audrey’s album, Faith, focused more on the mainstream country/pop genre.
Audrey’s third album soared like an eagle in the country music industry, garnering her several nominations and awards. She continued her singing career until she finally ventured back to her first genre, country music.
In 2019, Audrey Faith Mcgraw decided to trace her biological parents in the hopes of finding the missing link. When she saw her biological mother, she was in shock because of the similarities that they had. She later revealed that the experience made her complete as a person.
Recently, Faith and Tim McGraw are collaborating on an album under Sony Music Nashville. The couple started touring after that.
Aside from her music career, Hill also has a fragrance line and has a literacy project called The Faith Hill Family Literacy Project.
